CORE VALUES
Core values are those deeply held beliefs that shape our congregational culture by communicating the priorities, attitudes, and approaches that will be encouraged in the ministries of Tri-City Church as we seek to fulfill our vision and purpose.
God’s Word: The Bible is the enteral Word of God and our final authority not only for what we believe but also for how we live. We are committed as a church to the diligent teaching of God’s Word, and as individuals to study, know, and live it out. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 17:17; Acts 20:27; Hebrews 4:12
People: We value people as God’s image bearers. We choose to yield to each other in unity to build the church through maintaining mutual respect, open communication, loving cooperation, and by believing and speaking the best about each other. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Romans 5:8; Romans 12:9-10
The Spirit Led Life: We honor Jesus as our Head and the Holy Spirit as our Counselor. We seek to give full control of our lives and the ministry of our church to the Holy Spirit as evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. This includes our commitment to integrity by speaking the truth in love, living uprightly, and turning from any form of hypocrisy. Galatians 5:16-26; Romans 8:12-17; Ephesians 4:15; 5:18-20
Prayer: We believe that prayer is essential in all that we do and that God hears and answers our prayers. Therefore, the ministries and activities of this church will be characterized by a reliance on prayer in their conception, planning, and execution. 1Thessalonians 5:16-18; Philippians 4:6; James 5:13-18
Servant Leadership: We believe that God has called and gifted those who will lead the church as a shepherd leads his flock. Our leadership will be characterized by humility, selflessness, grace, care, and a sincere desire to build up and lead the Body of Christ. Mark 10:37, 43-45; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Peter 5:1-5
Faithful Stewardship: We affirm that God is the Creator of all that we are and the Owner of all that we have. We will be generous, cheerful, Spirit-directed givers of our resources and gifts to fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. Luke 12:42-43; 1 Peter 4:1
Relevance: We affirm that the timeless truths of God’s Word must be communicated in the language of today’s needs, hurts, trends, and questions. We are committed to developing a ministry that is sufficiently flexible in style and format so that the truths of Christ are clearly presented in ways that the current culture can relate to. 1 Corinthians 9:19-23
Excellence: We affirm that the Lord desires and deserves our best effort in all we do to serve Him. Our commitment to excellence results in high quality, high touch ministries that are attractive and inspirational. This will be achieved when every person is exercising their God-given spiritual gifts to the best of their ability. Colossians 3:17, 23; Galatians 6:4; 1 Corinthians 12
